11:00am Tuesday 11th September 2012 in Sport
STEVE Wilson took eight of the nine Kingston Bagpuize 2nd wickets to fall as Oxford Downs 3rd ensured second place and promotion from Division 8.
Downs went into the game eight points ahead of their opponents and set a target of 181-7 with Graham Coates (66) and Ian Caunce (44) leading the way.
Wilson returned superb figures of 8-41 as Kingston could manage only 126-9 in reply, meaning Downs will be playing Division 7 cricket next season.
Despite losing by two wickets against Wallingford 2nd, Horspath 4th avoided the drop after Brackley 2nd slipped to a 24-run defeat against Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 3rd.
The promotion and relegation issues were already resolved in Division 6, and the only matter to sort in Division 7 was who was relegated with Cumnor 3rd.
Hanborough 2nd are leaving the league anyway, but Banbury 5th made sure they would not go down with a 20-run win over Buckingham 3rd.
Aston Rowant 4th beat Bicester & North Oxford 3rd to stay second in Division 10.
