TENNIS: Jana claims girls crown

Jana Cooper Marcos emerged a plucky winner of the girls’ under 9 event at the Wilson Oxfordshire Junior County Closed Championships.
The White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre player beat clubmate Chloe Elliott 7-2, 6-8, 7-5 to take the prize.
Will Taylor (White Horse) beat Ben Knight 7-2, 7-5 to land the boys’ title.
Bobby Hornby (North Oxford) saw off Arthur Manson (Virgin Active) 10-3 to win the under 8 event, with Arthur’s sister, Grace Manson (Virgin Active), defeating Aoife McGuire (Oxford Sports) 10-6 in the girls final.
