CHALLOW & Childrey 2nd opened up a big lead at the top of the table after they narrowly beat Brackley in the only game in the division to start.

Mark Taylor (4-32) and George Hook (3-22) helped restrict Brackley to 138-9 from their 53 overs, with none of the visiting batsman showing any early season form.

Nigel Troope then took 5-37 to set up a thrilling finish to the match, which ended when Challow reached 139-8 with five balls to spare.

The other four matches failed to start.
