RUGBY UNION: Hawks frustrated

BACKS coach Pete Davies said Henley Hawks were left frustrated at only being able to draw at home to title-chasing Richmond.

Henley showed plenty of character at Dry Leas, but there was still lots to improve on “I was satisfied with our endeavour and defensive organisation, but I was not happy with our set-piece execution,” said Davies.

“The scrum and line-out certainly weren’t great.

“Drawing 16-16 with a top side like Richmond, despite having only 30 per cent of the possession, would please some people.

“But we know that if we had had just 50 per cent possession, we would have beaten them quite comfortably.

“If that is the benchmark at the top, then we are in a good place to be pushing for promotion next year.”
