CHINNOR head coach Jason Bowers is urging his players to complete the job when they visit Redingensians in tomorrow’s promotion showdown.

The original match between the league’s second and third-placed sides was abandoned in December after Chinnor wing Ken Prinsloo suffered a nasty leg break on 58 minutes.

Chinnor led 17-5 at that point, but the league ruled that the match should be replayed.

Three and a half months later, just two points separate the sides ahead of what should be a titanic clash.

Bowers, who names an unchanged squad, said: “Redingensians have won 12 out of their last 13 games, but we beat them before Christmas, twice in effect.

“We are not looking to go there and do anything other than win on Saturday. We go there full of confidence.

“I think they will be a huge challenge. They are a big side and very abrasive.”

Victory would leave Chinnor in pole position to secure a play-off spot and retain outside hopes of winning the title.

Fly half James Cathcart returns after missing last week’s victory over Newbury.

Bowers added: “It is a huge weekend for the club with the Oxfordshire Cup final and National Colts semi-final as well.

“Most clubs would hope for one of these, but we have three in a weekend. It is a testament to where we are.”
