REPORTS from Ireland indicate that a consortium led by Pascal Taggart could be in line to purchase Oxford Stadium’s sister track at Wimbledon.

I understand, that if the sa le goes ahead, there are plans to demolish the vast site completely with the intention of building a state of the art stadia and making it a leading sports venue.

A decision should be made in the next few weeks.

If the sale does go ahead it will be the first of the GRA stadiums to be sold under the ownership of Capital Risk Partners, the GRA’s owners.

You may recall that CRP were interested in applying for planning permission to convert Oxford Stadium into housing before it was turned by the local council.

Does this mean that Oxford and others could be sold if the sale goes ahead?

There will be a lot of speedway and greyhound enthusiasts awaiting a decision.
