Banbury beat Brighton 5-1 in their Premier Division 1 six-pointer.

Both teams were level on points and fighting to stay above the relegation zone.

With Brighton having won three on the bounce, Banbury were thrilled to put that run to an end in a goal feast.

George Brooker (2), Simon Boardman, Craig Irvine and Adrian Simons got the goals.

Adam Jordan scored five goals as Oxford University warmed up for this week’s Varsity Match against Cambridge in style with a remarkable 8-6 win away to third-placed Staines. Alex Stobbart also hit a hat-trick.

In Premier Division 2, Oxf-ord Hawks were indebted to another treble from David Cresswell as they maintained their promotion push with a 5-2 win over Henley.

Nick Ferraby broke the deadlock. After a Cresswell drag-flick at a short corner made it 2-0 at the break, Ferraby added a third with a backhand shot.

Cresswell went on to make his tally 31 goals for the season.

Geoff Joseph and Richard Wood scored for Henley.

With the new Hawks pitches well under way, this was their last game at Cokethorpe School. Hawks issued a thank-you to the school for letting them use their facilities.

Rich Craig’s goal gave Hawks 2nd a 1-0 Regional division win at Wallingford.

Rover Oxford fought back from two down to win 3-2 at Wycombe 2nd, thanks to Joe Brownhill, James Neilson and Alex Williams.

In Regional 2, City of Oxford lost 3-2 at home to Wokingham.

They went down to a last-minute winner after Tom Dumas had struck twice.

Witney took a big step tow-ards promotion to Regional level as South African Justin Peel’s hat-trick inspired an 8-1 win over Maidenhead 2nd.

Chris Partridge (2), Julian Easterbrook (2) and Ben Wells also scored.

Bicester are up to second in Division 2 after Harry Gaunt (2), Chris Ruff and Joe Sach grabbed the goals in a 4-3 win at West Hampstead 3rd.

Denis McMillan, Andy Ring-sell and Will Trigg scored as Abingdon beat Hawks 2nd 3-2. Hugh Lazenby and Chris Snelling scored Hawks’ goals.
