United sign on defender Sangare

Oxford United have signed former York City defender Djoumin 'Jimmy' Sangare until the end of the season.

Sangare, who can also play in midfield, came on as a substitute for York against Oxford in the Blue Square Conference play-off final at Wembley last season.

Injury prone but good news for Oxford as a number of other clubs including Darlo and Lincoln were after him. Better in midfield than defence I hear.

Can't really understand this signing, we have just got rid of a perfectly good conference defender in Creighton !!!

Yes, its a little ironic that the York fans I spoke to at Wembley were saying they needed someone like Creighton, yet Sangare couldn't even make their eleven, and now what?

Give the boy a chance to lace his boots!! I have heard conflicting reports
-but mostly they are positive, all we can do is trust CW's judgement eh?

I'm sure that Chris wilder has been keeping tags on him. If CW rates him then that's good enough for me.
We have a very leaky defence that often concedes because of silly mistakes. Naturally it is positive to bring in an extra defender who can maybe seal those leaks.
Give the lad a chance. Welcome to Oxford United Jimmy!

I've only read very good reports of him. He sounds really enthusiastic and keen to do well for our club. It must have been awful being at Wembley last May on the losing side!!
