Oxford United are confident that their new home strip will be a roaring success – both on and off the field.

The U’s have moved away from previous supplier Carlotti, and signed a three-year deal with Nike to produce all the club’s official merchandise.

Chairman Kelvin Thomas said that the new kit was a “quality product”.

The U’s are confident that the Nike ‘tick’ will make the new strip even more appealing to fans.

United’s club shop re-opened on Saturday after a facelift, and pre-orders for the shirts are now being taken.

With expectancy among supporters continuing to be sky-high for a great season, United have announced that season-ticket sales are going so well that they have extended the deadline for discounted tickets until the Open Day, this Saturday.

Friday was the original cut-off, but such was the rush that officials felt that another week was in the interests of both fans and the club.

Ticket Office supervisor Dawn Wyllie said: “Friday was extremely busy, as it always is on deadline day.

“The previous evening we called many of the fans who had still to renew, and that caused a big surge.

“There are still a handful of people who have yet to renew, and there are also a high number of new season tickets this year.”

l UNITED’S players are back in full pre-season training today, having completed their fitness tests.

Well in this pic Adam Chapman looks a similar size and would you say he is chunky, Doddsy? Sure once the pre-season gets tougher any excess chunkyness will fall off.

hi all, i just signed up, i bin reading comments for coupla years an bin laughing at ur retarded spelling, language, ignorance an lack of eduction, im not referring to drunken expression or 'textspeak' or woteva, thats one thing, but there are sumreally retarded peeps on here but we r all one family rite? ****, just read that back! woah! appalling spelling, even taking into account my acohol content an laziness for typing correctly! anways, up the u's an as much as we wana get outta this league we shouldnt be in, we havent got aldridge, houghton,windass, elliot, whoever else, we've got our boys NOW, they woulodnt have kept us in the ol' div 1 so be proud of our history but live an look forward,look at the premier league now, wigan? fulham?hull? burnley? etc! football isnt 20 years ago, its NOW, yea we shouldnt be down here, but wot fun woiuld it be if we won the champs league an prem ship every year huh??? c'mon the u's!

ha! i'd prob be a teetotaller if i followed pompey! but 29 years a yellow, an counting, an proud of it! keep coming across others down here in various situations an they ALWAYS talk with passion regardless of their age, it ROCKS! an this season i feel more positive than a loooooooong time
