Kirtlington professional Andy Taylor will coach in six local schools after receiving an £800 grant from the Golf Foundation.

Taylor’s sessions will teach the sport and look to improve numeracy skills by applying a scoring system relevant to times-tables.

Four lessons will take place with plastic clubs and soft balls in the schools, with the remaining two using proper equipment at Kirtlington.

Taylor is also running a coaching course for juniors during the Easter holidays, starting on April 7.

Allison has chosen the Helen & Douglas House hospice as his charity for the year.

He then saw his side lose the annual captain’s versus president’s team challenge to new president Graham Reynolds.

Visitors can pay £15 to take on a club member. For more information, contact manager Bob Harris on 01865 554924.

The pair gave out trophies to last year’s four division winners – Burford, Oxford City (pictured), Shrivenham Park and Buckingham at The Oxfordshire.

Neal and O’Connell were particularly pleased to present the Division 2 award to City captain Graham Henley, who is a fellow partner with the Oxford-based accountants.

The 2009 season begins on Saturday, March 28.
