Oxford greyhound owners and trainers were left in shock last night as the GRA announced that Tuesday racing will cease from January 1.
They claim they are constantly losing money on the midweek meeting and that in the present economic situation, decided to take action, although securing the Friday BAGS contract went some way to making the decision.
The decision will be rev-iewed in the next few months.
Oxford are not alone, however, as Perry Barr, Peterborough and Crayford have also lost their midweek meetings.
Oxford will now race Sunday (BAGS), Thursday, Friday (BAGS) and Saturday.
