College Oak A recorded a famous victory over Premier Division outfit Shears.
The Section 1 side stunned their illustrious opponents when Paul Chap and Michael Wilkes gave them a 2-0 lead.
Shears hit back to level at 2-2 when Kevin Wilkins and Pete Hall (180) both triumphed.
But Martin Breakspeare and Les Radford made it 4-2 and despite losing the pairs 2-1, College Oak hung on for a 5-4 victory.
Original Swan A got their season off to a winning start with a 6-3 success at White Horse.
Tim Tricker, Peter Rouse and Jon Jukes put Swan 3-0 ahead, and although the home side hit back through Kit Young and John Fowler (180), Nick Cobb made it 4-2 before a 2-1 pairs triumph secured them victory.
