At last the supposed Oxfordshire Champions came up against a team that actually can play rugby.
Quins will never gain promotion until they learn that winning is not about gouging, stamping and playing the game off the ball.

The ref controlled the game well and did exactly the right thing by putting Winslade and DeLange (how many times does he go in the bin each season) off the field for 10 mins early in the game.

The "Tweed Army" was either silent or not there yesterday - fair weather fans Quins.

We will enjoy the National Three experience again and our 2nd team are already getting ready to win the Oxfordshire Cup next season!

Well done Chinnor-boys; in the face of foul play and a team that could only resort to violence when under pressure you showed that you truly are the best team in Oxfordshire.

Come on Ed, it wasn't a very pretty game but some of the quins scores are generous to say the least!!!!

The ref made the right choice by putting De Lange in the bin early doors!

After that he was no where to be seen and Winpenny had him in his back pocket all day, scrummaged off the park!!!!

Rugby won in the end!!??!!

Fair play, Chinnor go up as champions.

But playing 15 man rugby, you've got to be joking. For a team that relies on sticking the ball up its jumper, the comment that rugby won is a complete joke. Chinnor are going to have to do a hell of a lot more than they showed this season if they are going to better than their last showing in the national league.

Quins problem has been their inconsistency. They have however won 2-1 in their showings against Chinnot by playing fast 15 man rugby. It has nothing to do with foul play.

If scoring 665 points in a season is "sticking up our jumper", then Laughing My Socks off you are right.

So, Quins won 2 matches against Chinnor - 1st one was because we didnt show up; 2nd one was for a minor piece of silver ware; the 3rd one was the one that mattered.

All your bravado and claims of consistency does not remove the fact that Quins only way to win is by playing rough boy tactics and that is why they are destined to stay at SW Division 1 level and get no further unless they change.

As for Chinnor having to do a hell of a lot better next season; thats true we do. But all Quins have to do is the same because you are not improving you are stagnant.

See you in a few years boys by which time you may have learnt how to control the games that matter and win even when you dont play well.

Nothing to do with foul play!!!!!

You obviously didnt see the sin binning or the punch from your scrum half!

Or maybe you are one of the Tweed Army who were not present on Saturday.

You had your day of glory and hope that you will enjoy saying "Last season we won the cup against Chinnor - they play in National Three now"

Come on guys the season is over, well done Chinnor for going up and best of luck to Harlequins for next year.
A bit of banter on here is fine but the previous comments are just bitter and petty.

Lets leave it on a high note and stop being whining old buzzards...i'm sure you have better things to do on your weekend.

From the above comments it sounds as though Chinnor are as much sore winners as they are sore losers! In terms of off the ball stuff, in a local darby each team is going to give as good as they get. Each team should be able to be gracious with a win and have dignity in defeat. Best of luck to both teams next season.

I'd like to thank the match officials at Chinnor for their pre match help and making the big game a relaxed affair off pitch.
Maybe some of the supporters should differentiate between banter and vective.
Apologies to Mauds for filling his booked seat home with a tackle pads.
Still got back to the club on time though.

Some interesting comments here!

As a Chinnor supporter and father of one of the players last Saturdays game was a great game. Why? Because we were worried that Quins would beat us for the third time and then we would be in the play-off away against Worthing.

We didn't even feel comfortable until mid way through the second half.

Yes there were some off the ball incidents, but tell me when there isnt in local derby; rugby, cricket, football local derbies always have an extra edge to them.

So, Chinnor won - we were promoted and we all got very drunk in the evening. The reason the game had extra edge because of the 2 defeats by Quins and so paying £4 to watch a match such as this was fantastic value.

Good luck to Quins next season and the same to Chinnor - we will ALL need it.

Congratulations Chinnor on a superb result. Keep up the momentum and perhaps Hugo will be able to say he played in a higher league than his dad!

Quins party was better though !
They got back in the Gym straight away doing lots of reps as I showed crazy Phil last year.
The liquid nutrients were fed to the Zoology graduates by Mr Concubine Harvester himself and his able assistant.

Well said Mr Winpenny and congratulations to Chinnor. You have summed it up well and told it like it was. Just what we expected, competitive and not always pretty, but enthralling entertainment and **** good value.
Neither side were angels but unfortunately some spectators (I won’t call them supporters) only see things with only one eye open. I didn’t realise that Chinnor was in Gloucestershire - perhaps that’s why Carol Vorderman still can’t find it!
Good luck in N3 next season – I hope we can meet again on this site and swap a bit of banter while trying to score some points off the pitch!

Apologies for the delay boys, but I have been number crunching for the last few days and had a massive hangover to contend with after celebrating with the Quins boys on Saturday. After travelling all around Gloucestershire looking for Chinnor, I missed the game, but made it in time for the Quins party where I presented them with the “Numbers Game” trophy for the top score of the season, 118 against Chinnor last November.
Thanks for the party chaps. That Paddy is a dish (why do they call him Butcher?) but Phil needs a plastic surgeon to do something about those ears and that Ferdi really ought to keep his hands to himself, I’m no spring chicken you know!
See you next season Quins, I’ve given up trying to find Chinnor.

Lucky for you Carol you wont need to find Chinnor next year as we will be playing in National 3 and Quins will still be in SW1 - never mind ;o)
