RAFFY Rice hit a hat-trick as Stonesfield booked their place in the third round of the Witney & District FA’s Fred Ford Cup with a 3-2 victory on Saturday.

Sam Wright netted twice in Minster’s reply, but Stonesfield held on to reach the next stage of the competition.

Charlbury Town eased past visitors Brize Norton 3-0.

Their goals came from Michael Hayes, Stefan Lang and Sam Stich.

Chadlington edged out visitors East Oxford Rangers 2-1, thanks to goals from Rocky Burton and Jordan Godfrey.

Jason Blackman replied for East Oxford.

In the Jack Busby Trophy, Charlbury Town Res reached the last four courtesy of a 5-3 win at Bourton Rovers Res.

Mitchell Faulkner led the way with a hat-trick, while Bradley Empson and Marc Clifton were also on the mark.

Bourton replied through Connor Hitchman, Dan Joynes and Ollie Sammons.

Bampton United Res went through with a 3-1 win at Kingham All Blacks Res.

Ed Norris (2) and James Healey scored their goals.

Sam Selley replied for the hosts.

A double from Carl Williams, plus strikes from Jamie Stalker and Chris Hirons, gave Carterton Res a 4-1 win at Stonesfield Res, who replied through Liam Harris.

In the Premier Division, Carterton Town A beat local rivals Carterton Rangers 2-0, thanks to goals from Rich Hall and Wes Christian.

Enstone went top of Division 1 with a 3-2 win at Witney Royals.

Dan Bott (2) and Connor Bott scored their goals, with Robbie Cockroft and Damon Tolley replying for the home side.

OXFORDSHIRE SENIOR LEAGUE

Kennington Athletic gained ground on the rest of the Premier Division with a 2-1 victory at Garsington.

In the only top-flight fixture to go ahead, they inflicted a first defeat of the season on their hosts.

Dan Croad headed home a 20th-minute free-kick to open the scoring.

The home side levelled, but Kennington’s winner came two minutes before the break when James Smith volleyed in.

It was also a good day for Kennington Athletic Res, who claimed their first Division 1 win of the season with a 3-1 success against visitors Lusitanos.

Benny Von Eitzen’s header was cancelled out by Matheus Sobrinho, but Declan Clerkin restored the lead just before half-time.

Foley Sercombe’s strike in the second half made the points safe.

Kidlington A leapfrogged M.IN.I with a 3-2 away win.

Michael Filipowicz and Michael Wojtowicz netted for the hosts, but were outdone by goals from Ebrima Saidy, Frazer Kernan and Kristian Turner.

Sam Welham’s hat-trick helped earn a 4-3 victory for Mansfield Road Res which took them top of Division 2.

Rob Hatt also scored for the visitors, while opponents Marston Saints Res replied through Richard Hathaway, Jamie Wilkins and Billy Young.

Meanwhile, Alex Metcalfe hit a brace in extra time as Kirtlington reached the Oxfordshire FA Charity Cup third round.

Callum Surrage also scored in a 3-1 win at home to Carterton, who had led early on through Roger James.

Marston Saints won 3-0 at Bicester United, whose missed chances proved costly.

Matty Hilton put Saints ahead, before Rowan Chappell saw a penalty saved.

Bicester missed several good chances before the break and Marston surged clear in the second half.

Jack Gifford doubled the lead, with Jae Sharkey wrapping up the victory.

Elsewhere, Mansfield Road won 4-3 at Deddington and Hailey progressed 4-1 against Chesterton.

Chesterton Res beat Yarnton Res 1-0 in the Oxon Intermediate Cup.
