ANDREW Quinn starred with three 180s as Queens Head secured a thrilling 5-4 victory at home to TJ’s Club A in Section 2 of the Cowley Workers ODDA Summer League.
Dean Fowler hit a maximum as he won the first leg for the hosts.
After Alan Eckart levelled the scores, Queens went 3-1 in front thanks to hot-shot Quinn and Jason Buck.
TJ’s refused to lie down and made it 3-3 through Dan Webb and Paul Bustin, before a 2-1 pairs victory sealed the result for the hosts.
Alan Hunter scored the week’s highest check-out with 156, but it could not prevent Cricketers Arms B going down 6-3 to their A team.
Section 4 leaders Gladiators Social Club suffered a 5-4 defeat away to the Duke of Monmouth, who took a 2-0 lead through Fergie Gilsenan and Graham Moss.
Gladiators pulled one back with a win from Colin Walton, but the home side restored their lead thanks to Pete Burr.
The visitors closed to within one game through Ronald Day, but John Page made it 4-2 to the Duke, and despite losing the pairs 2-1, they hung on for victory.
Defending Ladies Premier League champions Florence Park Community Centre A struggled before beating their B team 5-4.
The A team’s singles wins came from Debbie Stock, Clare Bywaters and Joe Gleed, while Tina Walton, Lydia Harper and Lyn Padbury replied for the B, who lost the pairs 2-1.
