ANACLET Odhiambo, Eric Odhiambo and Tom Franklin have signed for Abingdon Town ahead of tomorrow's season opener.

The trio have all joined from Evo-Stik South League side Kidlington - stepping down two divisions to join former manager Julian McCalmon.

The Abbotts begin their Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East campaign at home to Woodley United tomorrow afternoon.

Anaclet Odhiambo scored 58 goals for Kidlington over two years, while brother Eric also had a spell with North Leigh.

Town manager McCalmon said: “They are two massive signings for the club.

"To win things you have to score goals and in local football there is no one better than Clet.

“In Eric we have another magic man, someone to get people off their seats, he's as happy making goals as he is scoring so he is a real team player.”

Centre back Franklin spent pre-season with Kidlington, but has decided to join the Abbotts.

McCalmon said: “‪After Franks contacted us to say he was unattached to a club, I acted very quickly to find out the reasons why.

“Leaders and defenders like him don’t become available very often, with work commitments and changes at his previous club he was after a new challenge and one that didn't involve so much time away from his family.

“I am delighted he can see the potential and vision for this club and has come on board.”
