JADE O'Dowda's place at the IAAF World U20 Championships has been confirmed.

The Oxford City AC star, 18, has today been included in Great Britain’s 40-strong team for the event in Tampere, Finland, from July 10-15.

She will compete in the heptathlon alongside Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Niamh Emerson.

O’Dowda, ranked 16th in the world under 20 rankings, qualified last month.

She won gold at the England U20 Combined Events Championships in Bedford, setting a personal best of 5,610 points.

O’Dowda also beat the seven-year-old record for the competition held by Olympian Katarina Johnson-Thompson.
