RENAULT celebrated a third consecutive double points-scoring finish at yesterday’s French Grand Prix.

The Enstone-based team saw Carlos Sainz come home in eighth place with Nico Hulkenberg four seconds behind in ninth.

The result maintains Renault’s grip on fourth in the constructors’ championship.

Kevin Magnussen finished sixth for Banbury-based Haas.

However, teammate Romain Grosjean was frustratingly one position outside of the points in 11th.

Williams’s woes continued with another weekend to forget.

The Grove-based team remain rooted to the foot of the constructors’ table after again returning home pointless.

Sergey Sirotkin was the last car to complete, with Lance Stroll retiring after 48 laps.

It means Stroll’s eighth place in Azerbaijan back in April remains the team’s only points this season.

Lewis Hamilton reclaimed the world championship lead by taking victory after nearest rival Sebastian Vettel could only finish fifth after being penalised for a collision at the first corner.
