OXFORD City have received a huge boost after Matt Paterson agreed to re-sign for the Vanarama National League South club.

The 28-year-old, who was the side's top-scorer last season with 26 goals, joins Kabongo Tshimanga and Ben Jefford in putting pen to paper.

The pair had agreed in principle to play for City last week, but could not complete the formalities until returning from their respective holidays.

Striker Tshimanga, 22, came through the ranks at Milton Keynes Dons and scored 15 goals last season for Vanarama National League North side Boston United.

Jefford arrives with experience of Vanarama National League South, having been at Welling United.

The 23-year-old fills the void at left back created by Freddie Grant’s exit earlier this summer.

Boss Mark Jones said: “Ben has got quality, technical ability, and he’s also a good character.

“We believe Kabongo is going to help us improve our goal tally.

"He’s hungry to score, and gets in good areas.

“They are both good players who we feel will make us better next season.”

Meanwhile, defender Connor Stevens has left City after failing to agree new terms.
