THERE is no stopping Bicester AC’s Amber Parker, who for the second week running secured a triple victory in throwing events.

The under 15 athlete was competing in the latest round of the UK Development League at Nuneaton, where some fine performances helped secure a fifth-placed finish.

For the third successive meeting, Parker broke the nine-metre mark in the shot put with an effort of 9.02m. She was also victorious in the discus (21.82m) and hammer (9.55m).

Josephine Parker, came second in the under 13 girls 75m, with a personal best of 10.8secs – the same time as the winner.

But she then struck the final flight in the 70m hurdles, when leading, which almost certainly robbed her of another pb.

Josephine’s brother Joseph won the under 13 boys 200 metres in 28.3 and also come fourth in the long jump.

Jacob Gough won the under 13 boys’ shot put, with Sami Singer victorious in the B competition. Gough was also second in the javelin

Freya McGinlay came runner-up in the under 13 girls shot, while Amy Willis was third in the under 15 long jump.

Abingdon AC’s Steve Pomeroy set a club record of 3,187 points when winning the veteran 55 category at the MMTG Throwers Pentathlon Championships in Derby.

Despite suffering from a bad knee, David Kuester, of Bicester AC and Oxford City AC, came second with 2,576 points in the over 70 category.

Abingdon’s Noel Blatchford clinched veteran 70 gold at the European Non-stadia Championships in Alicante, Spain.

Representing Great Britain, she triumphed in the 20km race walk and was also part of the victorious vet 60 team.

White Horse Harrier Jonathan Cornish was in action at the Night of the 10,000pbs held at Highgate Harriers, Parliament Hill.

He finished fourth in race D, setting a personal best time of 30mins 56.86secs.

Abingdon’s Sarah Dudgeon took part in the Strava Media Mile at the event alongside Great Britain and Oxford City AC middle-distance runner Hannah England.

Dudgeon was among a number of athletes chased down by the 31-year-old, who gave them a 45-second head start.

England won in a time of 4mins 48.1secs.

Harrison Read took victory at the Thames Run 5K.

The Abingdon AC runner beat clubmate Max Livingstone-Learmonth by more than two-and-a-half minutes.

Dudgeon was the first lady home in fifth overall.

There is a revised start time of 7.15pm for the Mota-vation Series race at Bletchingdon next Thursday.
