HOLDERS Berinsfield booked their place in the final of the North Berks League Cup with a 3-1 victory over Long Wittenham, writes Richard Underwood.

They fell behind in the fifth minute as Kieran Cooper’s low free-kick went in, but levelled through Max Palmer.

Charlie Lee had an effort ruled out for offside for Berinsfield, but he put them 2-1 up at the break after being set up by Brian Rawlings set up Lee.

In a tight second half, Berinsfield extended their lead when Mark Ingram’s cross set up Lee to fire home from eight yards.

They will now take on Saxton Rovers in a repeat of last year’s final.

Saxton smashed Lambourn Sports 5-0, with Patrick Mannix (2), Niall Hodgkins, Tom Stanley and Louis Bloomfield on target.

Saxton Rovers Res lifted the AG Kingham Cup with a 2-1 comeback victory against Ardington Res at Abingdon Town.

In front of around 150 spectators, Ardington went in front when Tom Eatwell found Jonny James in space to fire home past Saxton keeper Darren Spayes.

On the hour, Saxton pulled level when Michael Smith powered home.

Moments later, they went in front as Liam Smith’s ball fell to Harry Winn who turned in from close range.

Ardington forced a string of late corners, but Saxton held on.

In Division 1, Hanney United edged out Westminster 4-3, Shaun Harris (2), Neil Pimm and Nicholas Christodoulou scoring their goals.

Drayton clinched the runners-up spot in Division 3 with a 3-1 win over Long Wittenham Res.

Josh Dennis scored twice, and Kieran Hughes also found the net, while Wittenham replied through Andy Sutherland.

Marcham hammered Uffington United 12-0, with Tom Graham grabbing a nap hand.

Dan Thomas and Dave Yallop added braces, with Dan Barnes, Alex Woodham and Chris Shahab completing the rout.
