NATHAN Douglas was unable to secure his first Commonwealth Games gold medal as he finished fifth in the triple jump final on the Gold Coast.
The Oxford City AC athlete produced a best leap of 16.35m, with Guyana’s Troy Doris crowned champion after a season’s best 16.88.
Douglas was unable to improve his distance, which he set in his second attempt, as he went on to register four successive fouls in the Carrara Stadium.
