OXFORD United’s Under 18s have the chance to win silverware at the Kassam Stadium tomorrow.

They host Luton Town in the EFL Youth Alliance Southern Area Cup final (11am).

It is a rare chance for the U’s youngsters to get a taste of first-team action on the big stage.

The winners go through to a national final against either Wigan Athletic or Hartlepool United, but United’s youth team coach Leon Blackmore Such is focusing on the matter in hand.

He said: “We’d like to thank all the staff for getting the game on at the stadium.

“With the young boys it’s all about learning and trying to get them ready for that experience.

“To expose the boys to playing in the stadium only gives them more of an opportunity if they do get a first-team debut because they will have seen it before.

“It’s a big occasion anyway and to add any more to it is always good for the motivation.”

Advance tickets, priced at £4 for adults and £2 for over 65s/under 18s, can be bought today, or £5 and £3 tomorrow on a cash only turnstile in the South Stand Lower.

Blackmore Such said: “I’d ask anyone to come along on a Saturday morning.

“I know it’s a small fee but the boys would really appreciate it.

“The more people we can get there the better.”
