DIDCOT’S Neil Craycraft made a winning return to the Cuestars snooker circuit after an absence of nearly seven years.

The Oxfordshire player beat rankings leader Matt Ford 2-0 in the final of the fifth leg of the South of England Seniors (40+) Tour at Jesters Snooker Club, Swindon.

Craycroft had earlier been beaten 2-0 by his Ascot rival in the group stage.

But he finished second in the round-robin format and beat Woking’s John Monckton in the semi-finals on route to winning the £100 prize.

The next leg of the championship is at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club on Sunday, February 18.

Meanwhile, House Club A edged Thame A 4-3 in a tight Buildbase Plate quarter-final tie in the Gentworks Oxford & District Snooker League.

Tony Nichols beat Warren Eels 70-46 in a decider just after midnight.
