BERINSFIELD BC are excited to show off their fledgling team of female boxers at their open day next month.

The south Oxfordshire club boast their biggest group of girls with ten currently training at the Tower Road base.

Some of them will be showing off their talents at Berinsfield’s open day on Saturday, February 24.

The girls, who make up a 26-strong team, are led by head coach Mel Corrigan and assistant junior coach Lorna Jones.

The duo took a nine-strong group to the South of England training day at Dagenham.

Berinsfield’s female boxers joined 42 other girls, who were coached by Quinton Shillingford.

The former international boxer was assisted by 15 other club coaches from the south of England, focusing on various types of technical work.

They then sparred in different groups from novice to elite, before finishing the day using the pads.

South of England carry up to 65 boxers in their squads, which has been running for three years after it was set up by Terri Kelly, of Haringey BC.

The Berinsfield girls will now be hoping to show off their skills next month.
