OXFORDSHIRE’S rising stars were honoured at a special awards evening.
Junior players from eight to 18 (pictured above) were recognised for their efforts in the past year.
The ‘Oxfordshire Junior Tennis Awards’ were presented by Jordanne Whiley, Wimbledon wheelchair doubles champion, Marc McCarroll a Paralympian in men’s tennis, Lucy Brown, one of Oxfordshire’s highest achieving junior players, and Ed Isard, head coach at Abingdon’s White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre.
Winner of the boys’ award was Cameron Price who has represented the county from under ten level, right through to the senior Oxfordshire team.
Matilda Mutavdzic, who recently won an under 16 singles title in the Tennis Europe event in Albania, picked up the girls’ prize.
A special achievement award was given to Wantage coach Andy Aitken for his outstanding contribution to tennis in the county.
