ANDY Watts hit a hat-trick in Oxford Hawks’ thumping victory to become the South League Premier Division 1’s top-scorer.

The treble helped Hawks to a second successive 7-0 home win, with Indian Gymkhana the latest victims.

Goals from Will Heywood, Ryan Hammond and Watts put Hawks 3-0 ip and all but out of sight at the break.

The home side continued to dominate, with Watts (2), Ted Bennett and Drew Blackburn completing the scoring in the second half.

Oxford’s lead at the top of Regional Division 1 has been cut to one point after a 3-3 draw with OMT at home.

Debutant Zum Akhter and Tim Burns fired the hosts into a 2-0 lead.

But the visitors fought back and defensive errors allowed them to edge in front.

Akhter, though, slotted home, to earn Oxford a draw.

Witney drew 1-1 at home to Reading 3rd in Regional Division 2.

The hosts were pinned back early on and the visitors took a deserved lead.

But Witney were dangerous on the counter and Bobby Manson equalised before half-time.

Despite the best efforts of both sides, neither could find the net in the second half.

BECKY Odlin scored a consolation as Oxford Hawks lost 6-1 at home to Stourport in Investec Women’s Western Conference.

A bright start from the hosts at Banbury Road North went unrewarded and Stourport went in 3-0 up at the break.

Odlin pulled a goal back in the second half, deflecting the ball in after an excellent run by Abi Flory.

Only a terrific save prevented Catherine Reaney from reducing the deficit further.

Stourport exploited gaps late on to run out comfortable winners.

They had struggled to outlet from a great Hawks press, but after ten minutes they broke away and added another.

Despite this Hawks still continued to throw everything forwards.

But as a result, they left holes at the back and Stourport took advantage to add two more goals and secure a rather flattering scoreline for the away side.

In-form Wallingford climbed to second with a convincing 8-1 win over Oxford University 2nd at Iffley Road.

The visitors were out of sight by half-time in the Trysports Three Counties League Premier 1 encounter.

Louise Conlon (2), Taz Chamberlain and Frankie Brown put them 4-0 up at the break.

Megan Jones added a fifth early in the second half, before Chamberlain swept home her second.

The students bagged a consolation, before Philippa Morris and Brown netted to seal victory.
