FELIPE Barcelos struck as Didcot Town beat visitors Bishops Cleeve 1-0 to make it three West Division victories in a row.

But the Railwaymen’s win was marred by a serious knee injury to Sam Barder, who was stretchered off after ten minutes and left the ground on crutches.

So boss Andy Ballard, who was already without five first-teamers due to injury and unavailablity, had some further reshuffling to do.

The game was being dictated by Storm Brian and chances were at a premium.

Just before the break, Barcelos broke the deadlock.

Josh Pin’s cross caused confusion in the Cleeve defence, with Ben Tunnicliff heading the ball towards his own goal.

Keeper Lewis Clayton made the save, but Barcelos was on had to knock in the rebound.

Facing the wind in the second half, Didcot had a great chance to double their lead.

George Jeacock looked certain to score, but was denied by a brilliant stop from Clayton.

Substitute Louis Joyce also had a chance to seal the win, but was denied by Clayton.

However the Railwaymen held on to move three places up the table.

Didcot Tn: Bedwell, Jeacock, McNeill, Hayden, Cattell, Learoyd, Reid, Thomas (Woodley 70), Barcelos, Barder (Agyakwa 10), Pin (Joyce 63). Subs not used: Murphy, Ballard.

Attendance: 117.

Thame United continued to climb the East Division table with a 3-0 victory at home to Ashford Town.

Their first goal after 16 minutes owed much to the strong wind, which carried a long pass over the visitors defence, and Adam Morris shot home.

Lynton Goss made it 2-0 from the penalty spot four minutes later.

Eight minutes before the break, Dan West wrapped up the three points by shooting in off a post.
