DONNINGTON Community Centre caused a big upset to reach the semi-finals of the Cowley Workers ODDA Women’s Summer League Seven-a-side Cup.
The Section 3 outfit stunned Premier Section visitors Blackbird Leys Bowls Club with a 4-2 success, thanks to singles wins from Simone Proffitt, Claire Armstrong, Sarah O Sullivan and Janet Munt.
Premier Section champions Florence Park Community Centre A made the last four by beating Section 4 side Kidlington FC.
Blackbird Bar recorded a 4-2 win over the visiting Red Lion, and are joined in the semi-finals by Kidlington Green Social Club.
The Men’s Seven-a-side Cup went largely to form.
Cowley Workers won 6-1 at Bullnose Morris, while Abingdon United Social Club won by the same margin away to Cricketers Arms.
The all-Section 2 clash saw Chequers Inn B win 5-2 at home to Black Bull.
The hosts took the lead through Steve Coling, but Bull hit back to lead 2-1 thanks to Tony Wheeler and George Baker.
Then wins from Paul Bustin, Jason Taylor, Andy Haslam and Alan Eckart saw Chequers home.

Men: Cowley Workers Club on Tuesday, Oct 24 (8.30). Women: Cowley Workers Club on Wednesday, October 25 (8.30).
l FIXTURE lists for the new ODDA Winter Leagues, which start on November 7 & 8, must be collected from the Cowley Workers Club on Monday, October 30 from 7-9pm.
