EDDIE Pepperell shot a superb round of 65 at St Andrews today to finish in a tie for seventh place in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Starting his final round on six under par, the Frilford Heath professional fired eight birdies and a bogey to ensure himself a big pay-day.
The 26-year-old had four birdies in a row from the fifth hole as he covered the first nine in 31 shots.
After a bogey at the 11th, he had three more birdies at the 14th, 15th and 16th holes to complete his seven-under-par round.
He finished with a 13-under-par total of 275, which placed him in a five-way tie for seventh, 11 shots behind winner Tyrrell Hatton, who defended his title.
Pepperell's prize-money of €93,955 should guarantee his place in the top 60 of the European Tour money list and a place in the end-of-season Dubai World Championship.
