LANCE Stroll is looking forward to heading into unchartered waters at tomorrow’s Singapore Grand Prix.

The 18-year-old, who drives for the Grove-based Williams team, has never raced at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

But that does not faze the Canadian, who has scored 24 points so far in his first season in Formula 1.

Stroll said: “Singapore is new territory for me, but I don’t mind that at all.

“I like the looks of the track from what I have seen and it appears to be very technical.”

Enstone-based Renault driver Jolyon Palmer, who will be replaced by Carlos Sainz in 2018, is hoping for a strong performance in Singapore.

The Briton has won at the street track in the GP2 series.

He said: “Hopefully I can create more good memories.”

Romain Grosjean, of the Banbury-based Haas team, is also looking forward to racing under the lights.

He said: “I do like competing in the night.”
