BANBURY United’s sensational start to the Evo-Stik South Premier season continued with a 5-0 victory at Dunstable Town.

Another impressive display from Mike Ford’s men sees them retain top spot with five wins from five, scoring 18 goals in the process.

Veteran striker Jefferson Louis set them on the way, tapping in from close range after Charlie Hawtin capitalised on some hesitancy in the home defence.

Tom Winters doubled the advantage after half-time, finding space to fire in from 15 yards.

Winters then won a high ball and fed Darren Pond, who chipped the keeper to make it 3-0.

Substitute Sam Humphreys then crossed from the right for fellow replacement Conor McDonagh to tap in.

And the emphatic success was sealed ten minutes from time when Winters centred for Pond to net from six yards.

Banbury are one of only two sides still boasting 100 per cent records, but are above Kettering Town at the top of the table on goal difference.

Didcot Town made it three wins from four West Division matches with a 1-0 derby victory over Kidlington.

The crucial goal came 13 minutes from time, substitute George Reid the hero.

Superb play by Seth Humphries, who had also come off the bench, forced a good save from Kidlington goalkeeper Sam Warrell.

But the ball fell perfectly for Reid, who rolled it in to send the Railwaymen up to third.

It was, however, a day to forget for Thame United in the East Division after they were hammered 5-0 at home to AFC Dunstable.

Nathan Frater opened the scoring after eight minutes, before Jermaine Hall took centre stage with a hat-trick in the 29th, 31st and 67th minutes – the latter from the penalty spot.

Louis Bircham had made it 4-0 just past the hour mark.

  • NORTH Leigh travel to Evesham United in the West Division tomorrow, looking to make it back-to-back successes after a 2-1 victory over Salisbury City on Saturday.
  • A LATE goal from Jack Powell gave Wantage Town a 2-1 win over Thatcham Town in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

Steve Robertson’s deflected effort had put Wantage ahead against their rivals who had to play for 73 minutes with ten men following Harry Grant’s red card.

Elsewhere, Joe Hartley’s goal gave Abingdon United a 1-0 win over Fairford Town, despite Ryan Barney’s penalty miss.
