CITY of Oxford finished their season on a high with numerous victories when they hosted a level 3 meet at Leys Pool.

Oxford’s Safiya Sillah, 13, won the top female award with eight first places in her age group (in 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 200m breaststroke, 100m and 200m backstroke and 200m IM) plus a second place in the 50m backstroke.

One of the club’s youngest swimmers, nine year-old Eleni Ioannou, claimed four victories, two seconds and one third place.

Juliet Anthony, ten, secured three victories, while the 11-year-old honours were divided between Lily Brabbin and Ellen Bagley, with seven and five wins respectively.

For the 13 year-olds, Lara Mills took two first places, while Zoe Coombs gained four successes in the 14-year age group.

Kate Mills dominated the open category with six successes.

Oxford’s Christopher Skelton, 12, was runner-up in the overall boys award with four victories, three runners-up positions and two third places.

Other prominent displays came from Kayden Sillah, 11, with two wins, and Charles Pauling, 13, with one first place.

The Cooke brothers also impressed with Freddie, 13, taking four wins and Theo, 14, landing two successes.

James Austen collected six second places in the open category.
