LANCE Stroll is looking to have fun when he makes his debut in the British Grand Prix tomorrow.

The Canadian says the weekend experience at Silverstone will be a special one, especially as his Grove-based Williams Martini Racing team continue to celebrate 40 years in Formula 1.

The 18-year-old rookie is eager to get going on a track where he had previous experience back in 2015 while racing in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship.

“This is going to be a very special weekend,” said Stroll, who secured a sensational third place in last month Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

“I know the 40th anniversary celebrations for the team will continue, and, as I witnessed at the fan day we had at the circuit in June, we will have a lot of support.

“I have only had a few laps there in our 2014 Formula 1 car, but I do know it from racing there in 2015 in Formula 3.

“There is a lot of history surrounding the track and that always adds to the enjoyment.

“It is a very fast circuit and I find the Maggots/Becketts section really interesting.

“I think we will have a lot of fun this weekend.”

His teammate Felipe Massa said: “It’s going to be a very important weekend for Williams.

“I really hope we can have an amazing race, and an amazing result, to celebrate the anniversary even more”

Jolyon Palmer is looking forward to driving in front of his home crowd as the Formula 1 circus returns to Silverstone once again.

“I love the track and it’s always a special weekend at Silverstone,” said the Englishman, who drives alongs with Nico Hulkenberg for the Enstone-based Renault team.

“People always turn out in huge numbers and they are very passionate which really pushes us drivers.

“My first Grand Prix at Silverstone was when I was six and a fan, so it’s special to be there with lots of reminiscing. It’s always a great experience.”

As the Banbury-based Haas team seek solutions team’s issues with the brakes, particularly for Romain Grosjean, they confirmed will test those from a new supplier ahead of tomorrow’s race.
