ADRIAN Shepherd and Roger Goodall starred as New Club claimed maximum points in a high-scoring Premier Section clash at Garsington Sports A, writes ANDY BEAL.

Shepherd (5-5-5) clanged off 15 dolls, ably supported by Goodall (5-6-3) with 14 as the visitors triumphed.

They took the first leg 26-25, the second on three sticks after it was tied 26-26, before clinching the last 25-22.

Barry Ruffels top-scored with 15 (4-6-5) for Garsington.

Seven Gladiators A players hit double figures in their 25-22, 32-20, 25-35 home win against Three Pigeons.

Kevin Baker (2-5-6) and Barry Townsend (4-4-5) both whipped off 13 for the Glads.

Black Prince recovered from a leg down to beat Swan B 17-20, 30-24, 28-22.

Red Lion A Yarnton shocked Premier Section holders Swan A when beating them 3-0.

In the Section 2 top-of-the-table clash, Six Bells E Kidlington triumphed 19-22, 19-13, 30-24 over Chequers C.

Bullnose Morris A are only two points behind after whitewashing Gladiators B 22-13, 23-19, 19-11.

John Brown led the way with 14 (5-5-4) as Black Horse C beat The Crown 20-18, 20-16, 19-24.

Six Bells D Kidlington’s title hopes took a knock as they lost 16-15, 21-16, 15-18 at home to Donnington A.

Section 3 leaders Garsington Sports B crashed to a 2-1 defeat at Blackbird.

The hosts won the opening leg on three sticks after it was tied 18-18, before Garsington levelled, taking the second 19-14.

They set 18 in the decider, before Blackbird’s lead-off man Garry Rees got them off to a good start and they never faltered to score 20.

Anchor man Robin Charlton clanged off four vital dolls to earn Vikings B a 2-1 win at Queens Head.

The home side won the first leg 18-15, before the visitors levelled, taking the second on three sticks after it was tied 14-14.

After being set 14, Charlton delivered in the decider to secure victory.

New Club B beat King & Queen 22-17, 18-16, 15-16.

In Section 4, Donnington C took the first two legs 17-12, 21-20 against Six Bells B Kidlington, before Marc Joines clanged off the three needed in the decider to take the third 21-20.

Masons Arms A join Donnington at the top with a 21-17, 21-18, 17-13 win at Green Road Club B.

Bullnose Morris B moved level at the summit of Section 5 after edging Red Lion Marston.

Despite their first four players blobbing, they tied the first leg 11-11 and won the three-stick shoot-out.

Red Lion levelled at 13-10, before Bullnose took the decider 17-12.

Seacourt Bridge A triumphed 14-11, 13-11, 15-17 at Littlemore.

But Chequers B’s hopes took a hit as they lost 13-12, 19-16, 16-16 (three sticks) at Cricketers Arms.

In Section 6, leaders Six Bells B Quarry beat Northway A 19-14, 20-10, 18-17.

Florence Park and Vikings Sports C hit 39 dolls apiece, but the former triumphed 12-10, 14-12, 13-17.

Black Horse B and Marston British Legion shared the first two legs 16-15 and 20-19.

The decider was tied 15-15 and Legion clinched victory on three sticks.

Red Lion B Yarnton made it nine wins in a row when beating Kidlington Football Club 19-9, 13-13 (three sticks), 16-15.

Nathan O’Donnell bagged a six in his 14-doll haul (6-4-4) as Prince of Wales triumphed 17-13, 21-14, 14-14 (three sticks) over Northway C.

In Section 8, unbeaten Golden Ball beat White Hart B Wolvercote 9-5, 9-8, 10-8.
