ROMAIN Grosjean believes Banbury’s Haas team are moving in the right direction after securing their first double points finish in Formula 1.
The Frenchman finished eighth, two places ahead of teammate Kevin Magnussen in Monaco.
Grosjean said: “It’s the first time we’ve had two cars in the top ten, so that’s really good, especially in Monaco.
“We managed to stay out of trouble and I drove as fast as I could.
“There’s a lot more we need to analyse and understand, but we’re growing as a team.”
Magnussen said: “Personally, I had a very disappointing race.
“I had a puncture, but to still finish in the points with both cars is a really good job from the team.
“They really deserve this.”
The only other points scored for Oxfordshire teams went to Felipe Massa, who came home ninth for Grove’s Williams team.
He said: “We had brake issues from the start and I had to manage them from the very first lap.
“I’ve never had to do that before in my career!”
Jolyon Palmer just missed out on a first point of the season, finishing 11th in his Enstone-prepared Renault.
The Briton said: “I’m happy with the race, the pace was pretty good and there were no mistakes.”
