ROGER Goodall and Pip Goulding both clanged off 15 dolls (5-4-6) as New Club A came from behind to beat Black Prince, writes ANDY BEAL.

Prince set and won the opener 26-25, before New Club levelled the Premier & Section 1 clash by claiming an equally tight second leg 29-28.

They then wrapped up victory in the Greene King Oxford & District League when taking the decider 30-23.

Gladiators A edged Swan A 2-1 in a tight encounter.

Swan comfortably won the first leg 26-19, before their anchorman Keith Powell clanged off a six to send the second into a three-stick shoot-out, which Glads won.

They then set and took the third 29-22.

George A are still seeking their first win of the season after suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Three Pigeons.

The damage was done in the first two legs, with the visitors triumphing 29-21, 27-25.

But George, for whom Kevin Stuart clanged off 14 (5-5-4), prevented the whitewash in the decider with a 28-22 success.

Neil Lyon also whipped off 14 (5-5-4) for Pigeons, while 89-year-old Joe Smith hit a dozen (4-5-3).

Billy Trinder was in top form with 14 (5-5-4) to help Garsington Sports A to their first victory with a 3-0 win.

After clinching the first 21-20, Garsington made it 2-0 on three sticks after the sides were tied 25-25.

The maximum points were sealed with a 27-22 triumph in the third.

Ashley Keenan clanged off 13 (4-5-4) as Woodman beat Swan B 22-21, 26-27, 24-12.

Six Bells E Kidlington remain unbeaten in Section 2 after defeating Black Horse C 20-17, 18-19, 24-18.

John Brown threw well for the victors, hitting 13 (4-5-4).

Dave Green bagged a six in his 11-doll haul as Chequers C ran out easy winners against Six Bells D Kidlington, triumphing 21-10, 24-17, 22-20.

Donnington A remain rooted to the bottom after losing 16-11, 22-16, 20-16 to Vikings Sports A, for whom Pete Kennett top-scored with 12 (4-4-4).

In Section 3, Richard Poore hit a dozen dolls (5-3-4) to lead Queens Head to an 18-14, 19-16, 21-19 win over Blackbird.

New Club, with a player down, suffered their first defeat when losing 11-14, 23-18, 16-15 to Chequers A.

Six Bells B Kidlington made it four wins on the spin in Section 4, comfortably beating Green Road Club B 16-10, 16-15, 16-12.

Littlemore British Legion A outscored Masons Arms A by nine dolls, but still lost 2-1.

Legion hit 27 to clinch the first leg, but fell away dramatically, losing the second 17-15.

In the final leg, Masons anchorman Ernie Smith clanged off the two dolls needed to snatch victory with an 18-17 win.

MARK Cavey hit a rare six and Geoff Roynon clanged off a dozen dolls (3-5-4) for Cricketers Littleworth, but it was all in vain.

The Section 5 side crashed to their fourth straight defeat as Cricketers Arms A Cowley triumphed 17-15, 11-16, 18-15.

Cricketers Arms B Cowley thought they were on the verge of their first win in Section 7 after claiming the opener 13-11 against Northway Club C.

But they went on to lose the next two legs 15-11, 17-14.

Red Lion B Yarnton inflicted a first defeat on Black Horse A with a 17-13, 22-14, 19-15 triumph.

Richard Byrne was in fine form, clanging off ten dolls (4-3-3).

Democrats B lead a four-way tie at the top of Section 8 after beating Kings Arms 9-7, 10-8, 11-4.

Pip McGilvery top-scored with eight dolls (1-5-2).
