Todd Stanmore lost in quarter-finals to the eventual winner
TODD Stanmore, from Abingdon Prep, reached the last eight of the Butterfly English Schools National Championships at Wolverhampton.
After taking the first game of his under 11 boys quarter-final, Stanmore went down 3-1 to Connor Green, from Nottinghamshire, who went on to win the title.
In the under 13 girls event, Pelin Karabulu (European School, Culham), failed to qualify, despite winning two of her four ties.
Abingdon School’s Rafe Fleming, one of the lowest ranked players in the under 16 boys competition, won one of his four group matches.
