CRAIG Partridge made a great start to the defence of his Ace Tackle and Bait Carp League title by winning the opening match on Bottom Pool, Tunnel Barn Farm.
The Kidlington angler weighed in with a 60lb 12oz 0drms net of carp and F1’s, closely followed by clubmate Steve Johnson on 59.8.0. In third place was Dave Hawkins (Didcot) with 52.14.0, followed by Jack Kerin (Didcot) on 45.10.0 and Andy Benwell (Kidlington) 45.0.0.
Malcolm Smith (pictured) won the first round of Littlemore AS’s Spring League, fished by 18 at Bishops Bowl Fisheries.
Smith had 15 carp on the pole for 61.15.0.
Terry Yates edged out his son Stuart by an ounce for second, catching carp on the pole with maggot for 49.2.0. Stuart had nine carp for 49.1.0.
Ian Higgins finished well ahead in North Oxford AS’s third Canal Summer Series match at Kingsbridge.
Higgins won with 14.9.0 of bream and perch on worm. Dave Pether was second with 4.12.0, followed by Dave Scott-Picton on 3.0.0.
