BICESTER secured a home play-off tie after fighting back to beat Stow-on-the-Wold 23-22 at home.

The north Oxfordshire side needed two late tries to claim a bonus-point win in Southern Counties North.

Bicester now face Trowbridge, who finished second in Southern Counties South, at Oxford Road on Saturday.

Despite Liam Corton’s fourth-minute try, the visitors led 12-5 when Craig Chapman touched down.

James Holmes converted, before scoring himself.

Tom Miles replied with a penalty and then crossed for an unconverted try to put Bicester 13-12 in front.

However, Stow opened up a 22-13 lead with 20 minutes remaining when Holmes touched down.

He converted his own try and kicked a penalty for a nine-point lead.

But the final period belonged to Bicester, who secured victory thanks to tries from Tevita Naleca and Dan Spencer.

Francois Weise had another score disallowed, but it did not matter.

Meanwhile third-from bottom Gosford All Blacks beat High Wycombe 24-23, while sixth-placed Wallingford lost 57-5 at Aylesbury.
