MATT Williams says Chinnor cannot afford to worry about rivals Old Elthamians as they bid to keep their play-off bid alive at Worthing tomorrow.

The Thame-based club sit third in National League 2 South despite losing the least amount of games and scoring the most points.

Williams is targeting bonus-point victories in their last three matches in a bid to reclaim second from the London-based club and earn a play-off spot.

“The big thing is not to worry about Old Elthamians, but to worry about ourselves,” said director of rugby Williams.

“If we can get 15 points it gives us every opportunity to keep the pressure on them.

“We go to Worthing, who are fighting for their lives, and it’s very important we realise we’ve got three cup finals.

“We’ve got to get five points against a very tough team.”

Chinnor make five changes, one positional, in the pack, with Jay Tyack, Koree Britton, Alex Bradley and Ben Pienaar starting.

Ben Manning switches to the second row in place of the injured Nathan Hannay.

Henley Hawks complete their away programme with a first visit to London Irish Wild Geese.

Tom Parton returns from England Under 20s duty, while Sam Portland moves to the left wing.

Hooker Stuart Philpott and prop Ziana Montout-Alexis start in the front row.

In South West 1 East, relegation-threatened Oxford Harlequins welcome Old Centralians to Marston Ferry Road.

Quins are a place and three points above the drop zone with two games remaining.

They could be boosted by a healthy crowd, with a pre-match lunch celebrating the club’s 20th anniversary.

They were established at the start of the 1996-97 season by the merger of Oxford Old Boys and Oxford Marathon

There will be a charity auction in aid of the Swimathon challenge in aid of Marie Curie – the challenge being under taken by club president Dave Woodward.

Captain Allan Purchase said: “It’s all very positive about the weekend, but the numbers don’t look good in the table.

“We can’t be complacent, but we’ve just got to bring our game.

“We know we can play good rugby, we’ve had a good period since Christmas and we’ve got to go in with confidence.”

Hooker Chris Davies returns, while Ollie Barlow, Adam Neal and Dion Taylor move to loose head, No8 and flanker respectively.

Sam Watkinson switches to fly half and Huw Dimond shuffles across to centre.

Witney travel to Old Patesians, with Matt Clarke, Carl Campbell and James Merriman returning to the squad.

Banbury take on Windsor and Grove make the trip to Royal Wootton Bassett.
