MICHAEL Appleton expects Chris Maguire to shake off a hip problem and be available for Oxford United tomorrow.

The striker has missed the last two games and is the U’s only injury worry ahead of the Checkatrade Trophy final against Coventry City.

But after Maguire (pictured at Wembley 12 months ago) was used only as a substitute in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final last season, United’s head coach is confident the Scot will play.

He said: “I still think it will be touch and go, but I would be surprised with the game being as big as it is and him missing out last season, if he wasn’t available.

“If he’s fit, he will play and as long as he hasn’t aggravated it over the last couple of days, it shouldn’t be a problem.”

While Conor McAleny, Toni Martinez and Charlie Raglan are cup-tied, midfielder Ryan Ledson is back from international duty with England Under 20s.

Coventry have four ineligible players, including first-choice centre backs Nathan Clarke and Farrend Rawson, but Marcus Tudgay and Kwame Thomas should be available after sitting out last weekend’s 1-0 win against Bristol Rovers.
