PAUL Fernandez clinched the veteran 40 title in fine style when claiming victory in the final round at the Hill End Centre, Eynsham.
The Abingdon runner crossed in 30mins 33secs to win the senior men’s race, helping him top his age group by eight points.
Fernandez had been in second place, but Jonathan Cornish, of White Horse Harriers, took a wrong turn and lost the lead.
Three points covered the top three in the senior standings.
Banbury’s Tim Wright was pipped to the title by Newbury’s James Craggs after the latter finished fifth at Hill End.
Radley’s Alex Miell-Ingram came home eighth as he claimed the under 20 trophy for the second year in a row.
Headington’s Kenny Lowies took the vet 50 title.
Witney A won Division 2 and Hook Norton A clinched the Division 3 prize.
Bicester’s Ben West beat Abingdon’s Jack Shayler in the combined under 15/17 race to win the older age group award.
Shayler’s efforts did help Abingdon win the team prize, while Banbury’s Skip Snelson took home the under 15 honour.
Radley dominated the under 13 event, winning the team title with Ben Cumberland landing the individual award.
Clubmate Quinn Miell-Ingram finished top of the under 11 standings.
In the women’s event, the under 20 category went down to the last round and Abingdon’s Fiona Bunn won the senior race to leapfrog Newbury’s Yasmin Ryder to clinch the title.
Teammate Sarah Lackman claimed third as she finished in the top three of the senior standings, behind winner Sophie Crumly, of Newbury, and second-placed Hannah Hale, of Eynsham, who did not compete at Hill End.
Radley’s Emma Huepfl and Banbury’s Rosalind Kelling share the vet 45 prize, while Eynsham’s Katherine Bates took the vet 55 honour.
Oxford City A were rewarded for their consistency by winning the Division 2 title, with Kidlington A finishing top of Division 3.
Abingdon A marked an impressive under 15/17 season by claiming the team prize by 25 points.
Newbury’s athletes dominated the lower age groups, but the under 13 event turned out to be an all-Oxford City battle.
Despite finishing second to Olivia Martin in the last race, Clover de Jonge took the individual title by just a point as the club won the team prize.
Teammates Henry Myers and Isabella Haines-Gray won the under nine boys' and girls awards respectively.
