JACK Brooks has signed a contract extension which will keep him at Yorkshire until the end of the 2018 season.
The former Tiddington and Oxfordshire bowler has spent five years at Headingley and was a key part of the side which won back-to-back County Championship Division One titles in 2014 and 2015.
The 32-year-old took 60 wickets as Yorkshire narrowly missed out on completing the hat-trick last season, but was named Specsavers County Championship Bowler of the Year.
Brooks is delighted to prolong his stay.
He said: “I wasn’t looking to leave and I’ve had a really good time since I joined a few years ago.
"My career has gone a lot better than I thought and it’s a dream to spend another couple of years here.
“This will be my fifth season and I’ve probably played some of the best cricket of my career up here since I arrived from Northants and it’s just great to extend that for another season."
