SAMMY Ait-Tales overcame a nervous start to mark his professional debut with victory at Tudor Grange Centre in Solihull.
The Bicester BC super welterweight beat Paul Cummings, of Warminster, on points in the four-round MTK Promotion fight.
Ait-Tales was delighted to land the victory.
He said: “I’m so pleased to get my professional debut completed.
“I had a massive following and the pressure was really on.
“I didn’t perform to my full potential, but I’m really happy to have picked up the victory against a very awkward opponent.”
Ait-Tales’s nerves were clear to see in a cagey first round.
The Bicester boxer built confidence in the second, targeting the body, but he walked into a right-hand from Cummings which saw him briefly hit the canvas.
However, Ait-Tales took back control in the third with a long left hook and had his opponent retreating to the ropes in the last round with a barrage of punches.
The debutant was awarded a 39-38 points victory.
