MAX Palmer hit a hat-trick as Berinsfield booked their place in the semi-finals of the Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup with a 7-1 thrashing of North Oxford.

Carterton Town A eased into the semi-finals of the Oxfordshire John Fathers Junior Shield with a 4-1 win at St Ebbes.

A blistering first-half display saw the game wrapped up before the break, with Dean Mays, Liam Harris, Chris Gilkes and Danny Taylor giving the hosts a commanding four-goal lead at half-time.

Only a string of superb saves from Cropredy goalkeeper Liam Harris prevented Freeland from extending their lead for much of the second half, but he was finally beaten again in the 79th minute when Tom McCudden stabbed home from a corner.
