MAX Palmer hit a hat-trick as Berinsfield crushed Lambourn Sports 6-1 in the quarter-final of the North Berks League’s Charity Shield, writes Richard Underwood.

Basement side Lambourn shocked the Division 1 leaders by taking a 1-0 lead into the break, courtesy of Aiden Maycock.

But normal service was resumed in the second half as the home side ran riot, with Palmer notching three times, Luke Holdsworth scoring twice and Sam Whiteley also on target.

Steventon moved level on points with Division 2 leaders Hungerford Town Swifts with an emphatic 5-1 victory at Harwell Village.

Harwell took the lead against the run of play through Wayne Robbins, but the visitors soon struck back and took a 2-1 lead into half-time, thanks to two goals from Jon Green.

Jamie Speer added two more after the break, before going on to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot late on.

Sadiq Hamis fired home a hat-trick and there was a brace apiece for Stephen Maloney, Charles Appiah and Prince Basanti as North Oxford Res returned to the top of Division 4 with a 10-3 demolition of Hagbourne United.

Dominic Crowder also found the net for the hosts, with Charlie Black, Grant Shears and Dom Lovegrove on target for Hagbourne.

Uffington United Res leapfrogged Cumnor Minors at the foot of Division 5, with a 4-2 away victory.

Goals from Pete Byrne, Josh Jeffries, Joe Braham and Liam Mullins gave the away side just their second win of the season, with Stuart Evans and Josh Rough netting the Cumnor consolations.

Sutton Courtenay Res were held to a 4-4 draw at home to Marcham Res.

Shane Griffin, Dan Page, Marcus Hooke and Godfree Antony netted for the hosts, while Tom Faulkner, Chris Shahab, Dan Thomas and Alfie Kingsbury replied for Marcham.
