THE prospect of getting to within one step of Wembley will be a powerful motivation for Oxford United tonight, according to striker Ryan Taylor.

Bradford City visit in the Checkatrade Trophy quarter-final, where the winners will be just 90 minutes from the final at the national stadium.

The Kassam Stadium passed a pitch inspection yesterday and will go ahead following a precautionary second look at 9.30am.

Taylor admits everyone who has reached the last eight will be thinking about how close they are to the final.

He said: “Maybe I shouldn’t say this, but I think everyone gives that extra five per cent.

“In the back of the mind you’ll be thinking about getting to Wembley. No matter who you are, you want to play there.

“Bradford were in very good form when they came to our place in the league and we ended up beating them 1-0.

“We’ll be looking to do the same again. It will be a tough game, but we’ll be ready for the challenge.”

New loan signing Toni Martinez is unable to play after featuring for West Ham’s academy side earlier in the competition.

Charlie Raglan is also cup-tied and Joe Skarz misses out through suspension, but Alex MacDonald is available again after serving a ban.

Bradford are in the process of selling striker James Hanson to Sheffield United, while new signings Alex Jones and Alex Gillead are cup-tied.

Tony McMahon is suspended, defender Matt Kilgallon (shoulder) is out, but winger Felipe Morais (calf) could make the squad.
