GOALKEEPER Daniel Heffernan proved the hero as Cumnor Minors beat Tower Hill on penalties in the Oxford Mail Youth League's Under 15 KO Cup.

Daniel Olczyk fired B League side Tower Hill into a half-time lead, but Freddie Nunn’s header ensured extra-time.

After the game remained level, Cumnor’s back four of Leo Hudson, Alex McMahon, Oli Lewis and Charlie Knevett all scored their penalties.

And goalkeeper Heffernan saved the final Tower Hill attempt to send his side through to the next round.

In the KO Trophy, Jago Edwards hit a hat trick to help Kidlington Youth beat Kennington Athletic 4-1.

Alex Puleston was also on target, while Jay Oram netted for Kennington.

Max King and Lerrell Wilkinson scored for Oxford City as they beat Grove Challengers 2-1 in the Under 16 A League.

Jaden Wilkins found the back of the net for Grove.

Harry Marshall and Alex Aedy fired Banbury United Youth to a 2-0 victory at Harwell & Hendred.

Botley Boys enjoyed a 4-1 win at Goring Robins in the B League.

Joey Bridgman, Billy Wilson, Harry Thomas and Luke Bostock were on the scoresheet for Botley, while Adam Wise netted Goring’s consolation.

Hamed Sallim and Alex Stamper hit braces as Quarry Rovers beat Wantage Town 6-0 in the C League.

Jack Grayson and Ahmed Elamin also scored.
