EDDIE Pepperell’s propensity for having disastrous holes led to him missing the halfway cut in the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek in South Africa yesterday.

After dropping five shots in two holes during the first round, the Abingdon golfer had a horrific triple-bogey six at the par-three seventh in his second round.

Pepperell had to settle for a second successive two-over-par score of 74 for a total of 148.

In his first tournament since regaining his European PGA Tour card, the Frilford Heath member missed the cut by four shots and trailed leader, South African Charl Schwartzel, by 18 strokes.
